A PRISONER who has been on the run from jail for two years has been recaptured.

Michael Aspinall disappeared from Kirkham Prison as he served a sentence for making threats to kill.

The 31-year-old had been given home leave and when he returned to the prison was under the influence of alcohol and was told he might lose privileges in future.

It was after that he escaped and went on the run.

Aspinall was re-captured in Blackpool and appeared before the town’s magistrates who sent him to be re-sentenced at Preston Crown Court on January 31.

He was remanded in custody.
