Police described the man as ‘uncooperative’, and said he spat in the paramedic’s face twice. They appealed for the public’s help in finding him this afternoon.

PC Jody Birchall, of Blackpool Police, said: “This was a particularly disgusting incident where a paramedic, just doing her job, has been spat on and assaulted.

“The victim was left shocked and upset and it is important we find the man responsible as soon as possible.

“Following extensive CCTV enquiries we are particularly keen to speak to this man in connection with the attack.

“If you recognise him, contact police immediately.”
