A COUPLE accused of assaulting former Blackpool FC manager Colin Hendry and his daughter failed to turn up for their court hearing.
Hector McFarlane, 63, is alleged to have assaulted the former Premiership star at a plush Lytham tapas bar.
The offence allegedly took place at Mojitos, Henry Street, in June this year.
Former Scotland captain Hendry, 46, is currently in charge of the reserves side at Championship club Blackburn Rovers.
McFarlane, of South Holme, Lytham, is further charged with assaulting model and singer Rheagan Hendry, 22, at the same venue.
McFarlane’s wife, 61-year-old Williamina, also of South Holme, is alleged to have used threatening and abusive behaviour causing Rheagan Hendry harassment, alarm and distress also on June 15.
Both McFarlanes were due to have attended Blackpool Magistrates Court yesterday.
However, the court was told they had not attended and Lancashire Police said the summonses had not been served because the McFarlanes were out of the country.
Magistrates ruled the summonses against the husband and wife be re-issued ready for the couple’s return to UK jurisdiction.
