A man lost his temper when he was cooking a family meal and pushed his girlfriend who hit her head on a bed frame.

Darren Clarkson, 30, of Johnsville Avenue, Marton, admitted assault and damaging a window at his mother’s home.

He was sentenced to 18 months’ supervision and ordered to pay £100 compensation plus a £60 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Paul Foster, prosecuting, said Clarkson pushed his girlfriend and she fell into a bedroom hitting her head on a bed frame on March 22.

Clarkson had recently had problems with alcohol abuse.
