A FAMILY meal ended up with a man being arrested after he pushed his girlfriend and she hit her head.

Darren Clarkson, a 30-year-old father-of-two, of Johnsville Avenue, Marton, admitted assault and causing £100 of damage to a window.

He was bailed for pre-sentence reports by Blackpool magistrates.

Tracy Yates, prosecuting, said Clarkson was making a meal for relatives at his mother’s flat in Bond Street on March 22 at 5.45pm.

He began being abusive to his girlfriend, pushed her and she fell into a bedroom hitting her head on a bedstead, suffering a lump on her forehead.

He was asked to leave, but outside threw gravel at the window, breaking it. Clarkson told police he had had some heroin and been drinking strong lager.

Steven Townley, defending, said Clarkson had thrown gravel at the window because he wanted to get back in and say goodbye to his children.
