Four youths have been caught after a five-day spree of loutish behaviour in St Annes.
The trouble started on October 16 when the group of 12 and 13-year-olds attempted to set fire to the gazebo and a number of bushes and bins in Hope Street Park. They then ran down Wyre Street tipping over wheelie bins, police said.
Further attempts to set fire to the gazebo were made on October 20.
Two youths caught at the scene by police and fire officers have been ordered to attend a young fire-starters course. The remaining pair were found hiding behind the Victoria pub and are being questioned by police.
Fylde Community Safety Partnership’s Bryan Ward said: “This is serious. The fire service has prepared a presentation about arson to be shown in high schools.”
