Arrest after drunk driver breaks down on motorway
A driver was arrested after his car broke down on the M6.
Officers from Lancashire Roads Police found the broken-down car on the hard shoulder of the M6 in the early hours of the morning.
When they went to offer help they suspected that the driver had been drinking. A roadside test showed a positive result for alcohol and cocaine and he was subsequently arrested.
The driver and his three passengers were heading home after a night out in Blackpool officers said.
