Arrest after 3am 999 caller threatens to enter sea
A 39-year-old Blackpool man was arrested on suspicion of drunk and disorderly behaviour after a 999 call was made from North Pier at 3am today.
Police say the caller threatened to enter the sea, with RNLI volunteers and Coastguard staff paged, though they were stood down before launching.
The man was still in custody this morning.
