Army prospect spotted in brawl

A teenager who is to join the Army was seen in the thick of a mass brawl.

Aiden Irvine was spotted punching other people and kicking a man while he was on the ground.

Irvine, 19, of Sycamore Drive, Kirkham, pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour.

He was sentenced to a six weeks curfew from 10.30pm to 5am and ordered to pay £85 costs plus £60 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Martine Connah, prosecuting, said police got a report about a group of about 20 men fighting in front of the resort’s Revolution Bar on August 2.

Irvine was seen kicking a man and punching out.

Steven Townley, defending, said Irvine, who had no previous convictions, and his group were forced to fight to defend themselves.
