Help is needed tracing a sex offender who failed to appear at court.

Ian Freeman, 52, formerly of Overdale Grove, Blackpool, was convicted in December last year of an offence of sexual assault and was due to appear for sentence at Preston Crown Court on March 6, but failed to show up. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Police believe that Freeman, who also uses the name Graham McDonald, could have been sleeping rough in the South Shore area of Blackpool, although there is also information to suggest he could be in either London or Brighton.

Det Sgt Mike Morris, of the Dangerous and Sexual Offenders West Hub at Preston, said: “I would urge anyone who sees Ian Freeman to contact the police. I would also urge Ian himself, if he sees this appeal, to hand himself in to the police.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at
