A man hurled a microwave through the window of a second-hand shop after he was told it would have to be spotless before they would buy it.

Ashley Shaw damaged televisions and iPods on May 25 in Money Traders, Lytham Road, when the microwave landed.

This was a rash action which was not worth it. Please think carefully next time

Shaw, 25, of Osborne Road, South Shore, pleaded guilty to causing damage.

He was sentenced to a four-month curfew from 7pm to 7am and ordered to pay £750 compensation by Blackpool magistrates.

Presiding magistrate, Ron Bell, told him: “This was a rash action which was not worth it. Please think carefully next time.”

John McLaren, defending, said Shaw had decided to sell his microwave because he needed to pay back his parents £10 they had lent him.
