At the same hearing Young pleaded not guilty to drink-driving in a pink Rolls Royce with 95 microgrammes of alcohol - the legal limit is 35 - in his body on June 22 and will face trial on that offence.

Young had two previous drink-drive convictions from 2006 and 2010.

Hugh Pond, defending, said his client, who suffered from angina, said he had not intended to drive to court the day he was stopped.

He said had only reversed the BMW a short distance before police apprehended him.

Young said he had only bought the BMW the day before he was stopped and that he had exchanged it for his pink Rolls Royce.

His mother had died recently and his partner had left him so Young started to drink more alcohol than was good for him.
