A drunken woman patient hurled foul abuse at staff and patients in Blackpool Victoria Hospital and then tried to set fire to herself.
Alcohol dependent Antonia Marshall had 28 previous convictions for being drunk and disorderly.
Marshall, 32, of Cocker Street, North Shore, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.
She was fined £10 and ordered to pay £20 victims’ surcharge by District Judge Roger Lowe sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.
The judge told her: “Staff at hospital have a difficult enough job to do without being subject to abuse.”
Pam Smith, prosecuting, said that on January 22 Marshall was brought to casualty department by paramedics.
She swore at anyone in her vicinity. She tried to set fire to her fingers with a lighter.
