A patient at a hospital’s casualty unit was arrested after threatening medical staff.
Michael Rhodes, 36, of Central Drive, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in Blackpool Victoria Hospital’s accident and emergency department.
Sandra Ardern, prosecuting, told Blackpool magistrates on January 9, at 1am, hospital staff complained they were having problems with Rhodes being abusive and making threats to them.
Allan Cobain, defending, said Rhodes, an alcoholic, rowed with a friend and been left with blood pouring from a head wound. He was taken to hospital where he started having fits.
Mr Cobain added: “His recollection about what happened is not clear. He maintained he was kept waiting for several hours, while bleeding from the head.”
He was fined £65 with £20 costs and ordered to pay the £15 victims’ surcharge.
