Four fire engines were called to tackle a blaze in a commercial building in Briarwood Drive, Bispham, at 6pm yesterday.

A spokesman said crews took two hours to put out the flames, which had started in a ‘drying room’. with extra caution needed because the property’s roof was made with asbestos.

Nobody was hurt in the fire, he added.
