Crews called to rescue woman

Emergency crews were called to help after a woman entered the sea near Fairhaven Lake.

Police, ambulance, the RNLI and a police helicopter were called after the 48-year-old was spotted around 8.30pm close to the Fylde beauty spot.

A coastguard spokesman said: “A lady walked into the sea at Fairhaven Lake.

“The police, ambulance team and police helicopter were called to help.

“We put Lytham lifeboat on alert. The woman was recovered and is now being treated by ambulance crews.”
