Crews called to house fire in Blackpool

Two fire engines were called out to a tea-time fire in the centre of Blackpool this evening.

The crews gave first aid to a casualty at the fire on the first floor of a house on Grosvenor Street, reported just after 5pm this evening.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Two fire engines from Blackpool attended a fire involving the first floor of a terraced house on Grosvenor Street in Blackpool.

"Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used one hose reel and two ventilation units to extinguish the fire.

"They also gave first aid to one casualty suffering from smoke inhalation prior to the arrival of an ambulance."
