It regularly put on concerts featuring regular performers, many of whom did the southern Spain circuit, in the 250 capacity concert room and had a family room and games room upstairs. After closure liquidators Booth and Co of Ossett were brought in.

A general meeting of the members was held on May 5 at Brun Grove Working Men’s Club and Institute and a resolution passed that the organisation should be wound up.

Philip Booth has stated: “The directors of the company have made a declaration of solvency and it is expected that all creditors will be paid in full.”

He said that in accordance with Insolvency rules creditors of the company should apply to prove their debts by or on June 8.

He said: “Creditors must produce any document or other evidence which the Liquidator considers is necessary to substantiate the whole or any part of a claim.”
