LOVEBIRDS have been flocking to find out more about Blackpool’s latest wedding venue.
For interest in the Promenade venue, which is nearing completion, has reached a peak, according to the town’s leading registrar.
David Hill, superintendent registrar for Blackpool Council, said: “Now that the final pieces have been installed on the side and roof of the wedding venue you can really start to see it take shape.
“People will be able to get married with a view of Blackpool Tower in a room holding up to 80 people.
“There’s nothing else like it in Blackpool and it’s generating a huge amount of interest.”
Smaller ceremonies will also be catered for in the modern new building on the Tower Festival Headland.
Mr Hill added: “There will also be a small register room available.
“The building has a terrace looking out over the Promenade and beach which will be a lovely location for people to have their wedding pictures taken.
“Myself and the whole team are looking forward to seeing the finished article in the coming months.”
The striking structure will also play home to a restaurant and Tourist Information Centre.
F Parkinson Building Contractors of Mowbray Drive, Blackpool, are building the new facility.
The work is being carried out at the same time as the new Comedy Carpet, road system, tram line and sea defence improvements, representing an investment of more than £100m in total with contractors from seven different firms working on the sprawling site at any one time.
