Lancashire’s next Bishop has moved in to his new home in the county ahead of starting his new role in October.
Julian Henderson, 59, and his wife Heather began unpacking last week in advance of a busy autumn schedule. October will see the former Archdeacon of Dorking in Surrey consecrated as Bishop by the Archbishop of York at a ceremony at York Minster on the 10th, before his formal inauguration as the Bishop of Blackburn at Blackburn Cathedral on the 19th. And this week Blackburn Diocese also revealed some more information about the plans being put in place for the next Bishop’s first few months in office, following his move to a home in Ribchester. Mr Henderson, a father-of-two, said: “Heather and I have already got a bit of a feel of the wonderful diversity of the County of Lancashire, but look forward to discovering much more now we have moved. Taking on this very senior role is a massive privilege and I hope to be a good steward of the trust that has been placed in me.”
