Coastguard called out to rescue man in Blackpool sea

A man was rescued after getting into trouble at sea in Blackpool.

The Lytham and Blackpool Coastguard team were called out at 1.35pm today by the ambulance service who were trying to rescue the man.

The man was rescued from the Irish Sea close to the Metropole Hotel in Blackpool by a member of the public and Blackpool Beach Patrol.

He was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for treatment.
