Dawn Myner, who said she was also known as Dawn Russell, had been drinking but insisted to the officer she was going to drive to Longridge near Preston.

She also flew at the officer and squared up to him so he was forced to push her backwards away from him.

Myner, 51, of Manor Drive, Cleveleys, pleaded guilty to breach of the peace and was bound over in the sum of £200 for 12 months by Blackpool magistrates.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said police were called to the Traveller’s Rest pub, Cleveleys, on Sunday over a report there were problems with a driver there.

When they got there they were given details of a car and they went to the registered keeper’s address.

Myner was in the street trying to get into a car and two women were attempting to stop her.

She had been drinking and insisted to an officer she was going to drive to Longridge to see her boyfriend.

When she was warned not to drive she became abusive and aggressive, shouting at the officer: “I’m driving, you won’t stop me.”

Myner told magistrates that she had no memory of the incident due to the alcohol she had drunk.

She added that she had been very upset on the day of the incident as it was the anniversary of a relative’s death.
