Planning permission has been granted for a former church to be used as flats.

The scheme will see the former Methodist Church and Sunday School at the junction of Springfield Road and Abingdon Street, Blackpool, partially used as homes.

John and Halina Warham have secured permission to use part of the ground floor and first floor as five two-bedroomed flats, including the installation of a mezzanine floor and other internal and external alterations.

Blackpool’s planning chairman is Coun Lynn Williams.

Planners included a condition that measures must be taken in relation to the nursery on the ground floor of the building.

The decision notice says: “Before the development is commenced a scheme for soundproofing the floor between the flats and the ground floor nursery shall be submitted to and approved by the Local Planning Authority.”
