A Fylde coast fish and chip shop is in line for a fish frying Oscar.

Seniors has been shortlisted as one of the three UK’s leading chippies in the Best Multiple Fish and Chip Operator Award category in the 2016 National Fish and Chip Awards, organised by Seafish.

Seniors, with shops in Bispham, Thornton, Blackpool and Lytham is one of the finalists and have been ‘fried and tested’, across the whole business operation on a variety of judging criteria.

These included the responsible sourcing policies of raw ingredients, outlet appearance and facilities, menu development and innovation, customer satisfaction, staff development, marketing and the adherence to dietary requirements. Over the coming weeks, it will get mystery shopping assessments by industry experts to determine the overall winner to be announced in London in January.

Owner Alastair Horabin said “We are delighted to once again have been recognised as national industry leaders because we always aim to provide a high quality and value for money experience to the residents and holiday makers who visit our shops.”
