CAMRA's Lytham Beer Festival was back at Lowther Pavilion, with a wide selection of real ales and ciders on tap over the weekend.

The three-day event at Lowther Pavilion organised by the Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) concludes tonight.

Branch chairman Paul Smith said: “It’s great to be able to bring back one of Lytham’s most supported events back in such a fantastic venue.”

The festival, which includes a wide range of ciders and bottled beers from around the world as well as some 90 real ales, attracted 1,500 ale enthusiasts when last held in Lytham in 2012.

Many more were turned away when capacity was reached on the busiest nights.

But last year it didn’t take place at Lowther after organisers failed to agree a deal for the use of the venue.

They also said they did not have time to organise the Lytham event as well as a new one at Blackpool FC.

After successful negotiations for a return, however, it’s cheer all the way at Lowther and the event continues until 11pm tonight, with live music from Fleetwood folk/punk crossover band The X-Rays.

Admission is £3, with card-carrying CAMRA members and  students able to get in for £1.
