CHARITY organisers are issuing a desperate plea for a DJ to help at their annual fund-raising ball.

The Richard J Wilson Sports Foundation has raised thousands of pounds to support young sportsmen and women in the Fylde over the 13 years it has been going.

But the group has been let down at the last minute for its ball at the Woodlands Suite at Ribby Hall on May 11.

Organiser Anne Hubbard said: “We urgently need someone to help us. We have found a replacement band, The Accused, but we need a replacement DJ.”

The charity was started in memory of former Kirkham Grammar boy Richard J Wilson who died in a road accident.

In the past Anne said they have helped scores of young people including Shelly Woods and Adam Little.

They hope to beat last year’s total of £6,500 with a raffle and memorabilia auction. If you can help, contact Anne on 017720 685634.
