A Fylde charity has been given some festive cheer with a £1,000 cash boost.
MP Mark Menzies presented a cheque to the Adult Support and Outreach Service (ASOS) – formerly the Church Road Day Centre – to enjoy a Christmas party with all the trimmings thanks to a generous donation from the Queendeans charity, of which Mr Menzies is patron.
The centre – which offers support and a place to go for older people – is now based in the Clifton Dance Studios on Clifton Drive South, St Annes.
Mr Menzies said: “I was pleased to be able to support the day centre when it required new premises last year and recently paid a visit to speak to staff and service users.
“It really is an excellent service which provides a home-from-home for many of Fylde’s older residents.
“This money will be used for Christmas parties over the course of three days this week so that all those who attend the service can enjoy a festive treat.”
