A team of Wyre teenagers on a Government-backed development programme will stage a charity gig , Wyred In, at the weekend.

The group on the YMCA-run National Citizen Service Programme, which focuses on personal and social development for 16-and-17 years olds, are planning the gig at Carleton Bowling Club, Maycroft Avenue, on Saturday, August 24, as part of the course.

The under-18 gig takes place from 5pm to 9pm in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The Government-funded programmed has already seen them taking part in a host of activities including raising £254 for Children of Watamu’s Happy House with a bag pack for shoppers at Tesco, Cleveleys.
