Fund-raisers have been urged to ‘get on their bikes and get plastered’.
Holy Trinity Church in South Shore is holding a sponsored cyclethon on Friday.
The event is to raise money to pay for plastering and painting at the church, following the restoration of the stained glass windows. Between 10am and 8pm, sponsored parishioners will take it in turns to pedal an exercise bike.
The church needs to raise £25,000 to finish the renovation work which was carried out with a £180,000 grant from English Heritage.
