There’s chance to go behind the scenes when the Fylde coast’s three windmills take part in National Mills Weekend.
Little Marton Windmill on Preston New Road, Blackpool, Lytham Windmill and Marsh Mill in Thornton are all opening their doors to the public this weekend.
Shirley Matthews, of the North West Mills Group, said: “We are lucky to retain our three mills, as at one time there were many others busily grinding corn for our daily bread.
“So we are urging people to take a tour of ‘windmill land’ as you’re sure of a warm welcome.”
Little Marton is open on Sunday 11am to 3.30pm, Marsh Mill and Lytham are open both days 10.30am to 4.30pm (Lytham shut 1pm to 2pm).
