The family of former Lytham student Rory Johnson have identified him in CCTV taken in York minutes after he was last seen.
The 29-year-old was reported missing after he left the hotel where he had been staying with a friend at 12.15am on Friday November 20.
Police in the city say he went to a nearby pub with another hotel guest, before leaving at around 12.30am.
Detectives today revealed he was caught on CCTV in the City Mills area of York at 12.47am.
The announcement comes as underwater searches resumed in the River Ouse.
Police believe Rory, believed to be a former Lytham High School pupil, may have got into difficulty while walking along the banks of the river. Adverse weather conditions forced the search teams to postpone their operations earlier in the week,
Police said the 29-year-old was in The Postern Gate Wetherspoon pub with a friend at around 11,30pm on Thursday November 19. They returned to the York Central Travelodge, on Piccadilly, but Rory left again soon after.
The alarm was raised after he did not return and failed to turn up for work, in Skipton, on Friday.
Rory is described as white, aged 29, 5ft 11ins tall, of slim build and with short blond hair. He was wearing a round-neck black top, blue jeans and white and navy trainers.
