Casualty given oxygen treatment after house fire in Grosvenor Street

Firefighters from Blackpool station were called to the home at 5.19pm after a fire broke out on the first floor.

Equipped with breathing apparatus, fire crews used one hose reel and two ventilation units to extinguish the fire.

They also gave first aid to one casualty who had been suffering from smoke inhalation, prior to the arrival of an ambulance.

The casualty was treated with oxygen by ambulance crews at the scene.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service has been approached for details on the cause of the fire.
