Clive Grunshaw, PCC for Lancashire, has given the money to groups whose work helps reduce crime, re-offending and anti-social behaviour.

AFC Fylde Community Foundation will get £1,800 for its Summer Youth Festival, offering six weeks of sporting activities at a number of anti-social behaviour hotspots. Friends of Hope Street Park, in St Annes, will use its £1,900 grant to provide six weeks of sporting activities through two qualified coaches.

Secretary Pam Curtis said: “The aim of the programme is to give the young people something free to do to help them become more actively involved in using the park appreciate it more.”

Mr Grunshaw said: “This money is used to make a real difference to the lives of people across Lancashire, by supporting projects which help to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and make our communities better places to live.”
