Roads will be closed from 9am and the Club Day Committee has requested that all vehicles are removed from the route before 8am on Saturday.

Committee spokesman Angela Hunter said: “Club day is a traditional family day with a long history of bringing together the churches in the town. It’s a special day for everyone and the people of Kirkham turn out in their hundreds to watch.

“For many, it’s the second most significant event in the calendar running a close second to Christmas.

“It is an extremely social occasion with family members and friends who are no longer resident in the towns returning to be part of it.

“The committee would like to thank all those who both participate and assist with the organisation and marshalling which allows us to hold this annual event. We hope everyone has a wonderful day.”

After the success of the first KWCCFest last year, the cricket club is not only repeating the open air live music, with six bands and solo singers – but is also hiring a 12sqm TV screen to show England’s opening Euro 2106 game against Russia.

The fun day begins at 3pm and also includes family attractions, bouncy castles, stalls, BBQ and bars.

All money raised goes back into club funds which helps with the upkeep of the Palace Shield club’s Woodlands Avenue ground.
