Car smashes into railings outside football ground

The driver of this car was fortunate to walk away with only minor injuries after his vehicle smashed into railings

The incident happened in Bloomfield Road, outside Blackpool Football Club, at around 8am today.

The black Renault Megane Sport was badly damaged in the collision.

No other vehicles were involved.

An ambulance was called to the scene and the driver was checked over by paramedics.

Police said the driver's injuries were minor.

The motorist has been reported to the courts for driving without due care and attention
