The Volunteer Recruitment Day will take place in the conference room at Lytham Hall to show prospective volunteers about the range of opportunities coming up.

Running from 1.30pm until 4pm the event will feature information points about volunteering in the hall itself as room stewards, conservators and tour guides.

It will showcase opportunities in the 78 acre grounds through gardening and woodland management, curating the archives, helping in the tearoom, being a marshall at events and getting involved in this year’s archaeology project.

Volunteer and training co-ordinator Alan Hulme said: “This is a chance for anyone interested in volunteering to come and find out about the restoration project we are embarking upon funded largely by the Heritage Lottery Fund, and the various ways they can get involved with the transformation of the hall.

“There is also the chance to participate in a behind the scenes tour of the hall at 3pm which will include areas not normally seen by the public.”

The normal entry fee is £1 but those visiting the recruitment fair will be refunded.
