Busy year for Blackpool electricals company

Go Electrical based in Lytham Road has seen additional investment and embarked on a growth plan to open new outlets.

Last year, new shareholders, Guy Siddall and Adam Taylor, joined founder Frank O’Mahoney in the venture to launch the expansion plans.

Now the company has just won the Best Wholesaler: Sole Branch accolade at the EW Awards 2018 at the London Tower Hotel.

And the company, which employs 12, is about to open a new store in Garstang.

It began as Fylde Electrical in 1978 with Frank O’Mahoney running a successful wholesale business service local electricians, tradesmen, businesses and authorities.

In February last year, mainly for health reasons, he invited the new shareholders into the business. Adam and Guy were keen to modernise and grow the company introducing a new management team, rebranding the company and revolutionising the existing store, warehouse and stock levels. This year the company launched its website and has been pro-active on social media and has improved its deliver system.

Guy Siddall thanked the staff and customers after the award win.

He said: “Without the continued business and support from our customers this wouldn’t have been possible.

“As a company we have made some major changes to the way we do business this year and we would like to take the opportunity to thank our customers for their loyalty and support throughout.

“I would also like to thank the staff at Go Electrical for their dedication and hard work to help improve the business. We are looking forward to continuing to develop the business as the proud winner of such a respected award.”

Frank O’Mahoney said: “This year has been a key year for the business, with the introduction of new shareholders, the company re-brand and the business due to celebrate its 40th year in the business, winning this award is another fantastic celebration.”
