Busy route closed while derelict building is inspected
A section of Bond Street in South Shore was cordoned off while a chimney on a derelict building was examined earlier.
A council building inspector was raised in an aerial ladder platform, provided by the fire service, to look at the chimney.
A spokesman said a caller rang the emergency services at around 12.30pm to say the chimney looked ‘unsafe’.
Police said it was reported to be ‘leaning’ to one side.
