A Wyre businessman has launched a new energy company with the promise to offer customers the best deal on the market.
Managing director Luke Watson, who was brought up in Preesall, claims GB Energy will beat even the big six players thanks to a commitment to passing on savings to the consumer.
His pledge comes at a time when falling oil prices have forced leading providers to cut their tariffs.
Mr Watson, 47, set up GB Energy, which is based in Broughton, near Preston, after years of experience in the energy sector and has been working towards the launch for almost 12 months.
He said: “In addition to our low prices, one of the benefits for customers in Lancashire is that we are based in the county – if they want to pop in and see us they are very welcome.
“But we are making it easy for them to choose us as a supplier by offering an on-line switching service that is simple and quick. Once they register their interest the switching process will be triggered and within three to four weeks they will have a new supplier.”
Mr Watson said GB Energy would not be available through switching sites, which he said do not always provide the cheapest deal. GB Energy Supply will launch on Monday and its cheaper energy will be available to domestic households from that date.
