One of Blackpool’s best known hoteliers is celebrating after getting a top online rating.

The Queens Mansions holiday apartments has won a place in internet giant TripAdvisor’s Hall of Fame.

The highly coveted accolade comes after the five star-rated holiday apartments – owned and operated by the Burbage Holiday group, run by Mick Grewcock and Sheila Chick – received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award for a fifth year running.

And with a 99 per cent approval rating by guests – which places it in the top two per cent of holiday rentals in the UK – the Queens Promenade apartments have now been placed into TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame.

Mick said: “Being named in the TripAdvisor Hall of Fame is a wonderful accolade, and shows we have got things right. Not only is it great for myself and my partner Sheila, but also for Blackpool.

“It shows the UK and the rest of the world that we have high quality accommodation which guests love and return to time and time again.

“TripAdvisor is the modern way in which guests look into accommodation before they book, so to be
so highly rated and regarded by our guests is very important.”

Queens Mansions is made up of 13 one, two and three bedroom apartments and each with their own private balconies and garden areas.

Mick and Sheila boast a 90 per cent occupancy level throughout the year with many repeat customers.

And it is not just holidaymakers and business people who love to stay at Queens Mansions, or at Mick and Sheila’s other five star apartments – the Burbage Lodge which have won TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence for the last four years. Many of Britain’s leading stars of stage and screen have enjoyed stays at the Queen Mansions.

“People will pay for quality, that was our ethos from the start,” Mick added.

“Investment in the property is crucial – we spend up to £70,000 a year revamping and improving the accommodation.

“But as well as investment in the apartments, personal contact and top quality service is so vitally important.

TripAdvisor’s Marc Charron said: “By putting a spotlight on businesses that are focused on delivering great service to customers, TripAdvisor helps drive an improvement to hospitality standards around the world, and gives businesses the ability to stand out from the competition.”
