A LEADING leisure group has offered 10 young people better career prospects thanks to the Future Generations Campaign.
Bourne Leisure Group, the nationwide leisure industry owners of tourism brands as Haven, Butlins, Warner Holidays and Owners Exclusive, today pledged to take on 10 apprentices in the Beneast Training and The Gazette-backed campaign.
Their flagship holiday village, Marton Mere in Blackpool, is offering 10 new apprenticeship vacancies within their accommodation department to supplement their existing team of more than 70.
Sara-Jayne Palmer, Marton Mere’s accommodation manager, said: “We are gearing up for a very busy holiday period and we’re working closely with Beneast’s employment team to identify suitable young people who wish to take-up an apprenticeship, gaining valuable industry qualifications while working within our accommodation team.
“We look after more than 900 holiday units catering for up to 7,000 people, so our role is extremely important and crucial to maintaining the very high standards visitors expect when they stay with us. “Beneast Training is handling our apprenticeship recruitment drive and we’re asking young people aged between 16 and 18 years to apply direct to Beneast for more details.”
Sara Gaskell, Beneast’s business development manager, added: “At a difficult economic time, it is fantastic that local firms such as Marton Mere have pulled out all the stops to support our Future Generations mission.
“Their apprenticeship recruitment drive gives 10 local youngsters the opportunity of gaining employment, earning a reasonable wage and at the same time gaining some great qualifications to add to their future CV.”
