Fleetwood Town FC has a new signing – the town’s Freeport shopping venue.
The Cod Army were recently revealed as the team offering the cheapest adult season ticket in League One with the best price per home goal, each costing just £4.38 each compared to £29.38 per goal scored by Norwich City FC, which is the highest in the league.
Freeport said that made them the perfect partner for the outlet centre which offers up to 60 per cent off some of the high street’s best brands.
Martin Booker, Head of Commercial at Fleetwood Town FC, said: “We are delighted to agree sponsorship with Freeport Fleetwood and for the opportunities it presents for the club to link up with another success story in the town.
“For us to be supported by a local high profile business is great and we hope that this is a relationship that continues to flourish in seasons to come.
“Here at Fleetwood Town FC there is a great community spirit, so being supported by a local company underlines that community spirit. ”
Centre manager, John Magee, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring our local team, the Cod Army, and to cheer them on as they battle it out on the pitch this season.
“We wish them every success and hope to see them winning the league and be promoted yet again.”
In 2005 the team played in the North West Counties Division One and has now celebrated six promotions in 10 years to their current position in Sky Bet League One.
