A BUSINESS leader has given some top tips on how to make the most of the hot weekend ahead.
The Fylde coast is expected to benefit from high temperatures and blazing sunshine over the weekend and firms can capitalise on the fair weather by using the right tactics.
Howard Lewis, of the Blackpool Business Leadership Group, believes a strong internet presence can be worth its weight in gold.
Giving his top tips to resort businesses, he said: “It’s about making sure you shout out about it.
“If you’ve got availability as a hotel or a restaurants, make the most of special offer deals.
“Make sure your opening hours mean you’re open at the right times and hopefully you’ll have a successful weekend.
“Use things like social media too, that’s really a key leader because you can get the message out there straight away.”
Resort traders can expect a double whammy of consumers swarming the streets at the weekend due to the attraction of the Illuminations bringing in tourists from all over the country.
Mr Lewis also imparted his advice to smaller traders looking to reap the benefits of added footfall over the course of the two days.
He said: “It’s about presentation, what you’ve got to offer and making sure they can tell you’re open.
“Get yourself some attractive signage up if you’re a smaller business. Be open, welcoming and inviting - and people will come in.”
Saturday will begin cloudy but brighten up with sunny spells. Sunday will be sunny and warm.
