The first shortlists for one of Lancashire’s leading business awards will be announced within the next week, it has been revealed.

The organisers of the Be Inspired Business Awards, the BIBAs, have confirmed that eligibility checks are being carried out on the applications its 18 prize categories have received from across the county.

It will inform those applicants which have been successful on Friday with each category having a shortlist of 12 candidates to face the judges in the first round of interviews starting next month.

Carole Myers, of North West marketing agency Conception Marketing, said she had been impressed by the quality of applications she had seen in the Manufac turer of the Year category which her firm is sponsoring.

She said: “I have been sifting through the applications from some fantastic manufacturing businesses from across Lancashire.

“The toughest job will be getting the shortlist down to just 12 applications as there could be many more applicants facing the panel in the first round of interviews.

“The manufacturing industry is a key part of the role which Lancashire plays within the Northern Powerhouse, so Conception Marketing is delighted to be backing such an important part of the BIBAs celebration this year.”

The awards’ judges will begin their first round of interviewing when the Best Use of IT category judges meet on May 16 at the start of a 10-day period of first round interviews.

They will select the finalists for each category who will then be visited by judging panels when the BIBAs hosts its unique ‘Judges on Tour’ second round of interviews starting on June 20.

The awards will be handed out on Friday September 16.
