The Fylde coast is a great place to trade on the high street according to one of Blackpool’s best known retailers.
Richard Lefton from independent furniture store Leftons was speaking following the launch of a competition to highlight all that is best on the Fylde Coast high street.
The Gazette Retail and Leisure Awards launched this month aim to shine a spotlight on the diverse and vibrant range of businesses on our streets.
A total of ten categories are up for grabs with a closing date for nominations of Friday, October 6.
Entries can be accepted from customer, owners of businesses, managers and employees.
Family-run independent retailer Lefton’s Furniture Group is the headline sponsor of The Gazette Retail and Leisure Awards.
The firm has been a Blackpool high street stalwart since 1946 with two furniture stores and a strong online presence.
Owner Richard Lefton said: “We are delighted to support these inaugural awards and encourage all businesses, large or small, new or long-established, to take part.
“The awards are a fantastic way to showcase the outstanding businesses that make the Fylde Coast a great place to live, work or visit.’
Categories include, Fashion Store of the Year, Retailer of the Year (Non-Fashion), New Retailer of the Year, Bar/Restaurant of the Year, Hair/Beauty Business of the Year, Leisure Venue of the Year, Customer Service Award, Team Member of the Year, Manager of the Year and Community Champions Award.
