South Shore streets look set for a touch of music and dance next month as Blackpool Carnival committee reveals the route of its procession.
And the committee is on the look out for Carnival queens and princesses with anyone interested in being treated like royalty for a day urged to get in touch.
It will take place on Sunday July 22 from noon to around 2.30pm with entertainment on the Prom into the early evening for families and visitors.
The carnival parade will start off at noon in Watson Road with those taking part being called to gather near the park earlier to get organised.
Form there the colourful procession is due to turn right into Lytham Road and make its way to the Waterloo Roundabout before turning left into Waterloo Road and heading for Bond Street.
From Bond Street it will take a right into Station Road and head to the Promenade where it will end near St Chad’s headland. There at the headland will be live music with a carnival and reggae feel. The main stage will be at Waterloo Headland.
Carnival chairman Geoff Moore said: “This is an event by the community for the community. We would welcome as many entrants in the procession as possible, or as many acts or performers for the stage, any person or groups interested, should get in touch.
“Obviously any local people or groups that want to get involved in any way, again they will be most welcome.”
