Getting out on the road and spreading the word about a Blackpool-based women’s business awards has paid off for organisers.

The entries for the Enterprise Vision Awards (EVA’s) are now closed and all categories of the awards have seen an increase in entries.

Now the process of choosing those making it through to the Blackpool final begins.

Business Woman of the Year saw a surge in established women in business entering whilst the Inspirational Woman of the Year category received the most entries overall.

Organisers said this particularly tough category will see only six women going through to the final.

Coral Horn of the Pink Link Ladies networking group and MD of the EVA’s said: “We’ve really seen an increase in entries this year in all categories of the awards which is fantastic!

“It’s great to see so many women recognising the importance of entering and how these awards can make a difference to their lives.

“The calibre of entries has also been particularly high and we have a tough job on our hands choosing those going through to the final.”

The EVA’s roadshow, which visited Preston, Liverpool, Blackpool, and Manchester to raise awareness of the importance of entering the awards for women in business in the North West, were said to be a huge success with women coming together to learn more about how entering the awards could benefit their business.

The success of these roadshows was apparent, with an increase in entries from women in the cities of Liverpool and Manchester.

Former The Apprentice finalist Claire Young will be the master of ceremonies for this year’s awards event which will take place on Friday, September 25, at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.

She said: “I’m really looking forward to hosting the final this year and to really shine a light on these amazing women who are doing big things in business.

“It’s going to be a great night of celebration for all in attendance.”

Launched back in 2011, the EVA’s provides women with the opportunity to be recognised for their achievements in business and showing them as a shining example of their profession.

To those who enter, the EVA’s can be a life changing experience, helping to give them an increased sense of confidence in their abilities that has a positive effect on their business.
