Revamped Poulton bank's official reopening

Santander officially opened its newly designed and refurbished branch in Poulton-le-Fylde with a message of staying safe against scammers.

Wyre Deputy Mayor, Councillor Julie Robinson and Youth Mayor, Jessica Basquill, did the honours while local police hosted a fraud awareness event at the branch to help customers understand how to protect themselves against con artists.

Work on the new branch design took nine weeks to complete and facilities include digital workstations with tablets for online banking, Express Banking with a new ATM wall, counter services for more secure transactions as well as private interview rooms. The branch employs seven staff and is managed by Gillian France.

Santander’s Head of Retail Distribution, Susan Allen said: “Banking is changing at a rapid pace and we wanted to create a branch that can accommodate the needs of all our local customers.”

Manager Gillian France said thanks to the investment, one extra member of staff had been taken on, and the town had gained a much-needed new ATM having had lost three along with two other banks over the past year.
