Blackpool boasts three of the world’s top hotels according to those who matter most – their customers.
Hoteliers have said the rankings, in travel website Trip Advisor’s awards, show “anything is possible” beside the seaside.
The Doric Hotel, on Queen’s Promenade, North Shore, has been named the UK’s number one family hotel, and tenth best rated in Europe.
John Kay, manager of the hotel which boasts indoor and outdoor pools, said: “It’s absolutely super news, to get number one is amazing for us.
“Children love our facilities and we keep them entertained.”
The Queen’s Promenade Hotel, in North Shore, (pictured) was named the world’s third best budget hotel, and the second best in the UK in the same category.
Owner Adrian Fearon said: “We’re delighted. This is quite a small hotel but clearly our guests like it.”
The hotel also ranked seventh in the best service category, rising from 25th in 2014.
Mr Fearon added: “Blackpool has had a lot of bad publicity over the years but I think things are changing.
“We hope other Blackpool hotels see that anything is achievable and the resort is not a lost hope.”
The New Guilderoy Hotel, on Holmfield Road, North Shore, ranked fifth best in the country for budget hotels.
The awards were based on millions of reviews left by holidaymakers on the site.
