Overseas success for Blackpool nutrition firm

Blackpool-based, Private Label Nutrition, is growing its international portfolio after sealing contracts with firms in Canada and Qatar.

The sports and healthcare supplements firm employs fifteen and has seen continual growth since moving to its custom built, manufacturing facility in Squires Gate in 2016.

The new, upgraded production line has increased capacity for the recently GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certified contract manufacturing facility.

It specialises in manufacturing and bottling finished products for a wide range of sectors, both in the UK and across the world.

It will implement and distribute supplements for the Canadian firm across the EU. Meanwhile a Qatari company has enlisted Private Label Nutrition to formulate several products, among which is a Vitamin D derivative, which will be utilised to combat a growing Vitamin D deficiency experienced by people across the Middle East.

“These two new clients are utilising areas of expertise for us, with the Canadian client asking us to implement an existing recipe and distribute supplements across the EU and the client in Qatar contracting us to design, formulate and manufacture a series of products, one of which is new Vitamin D derivative.”

Last month the firm completed a £250,000 upgrade to its production facilities at Canberra Court,creating three new jobs and more than quadrupling its production capacity.

The firm, was founded in 2013 and originally based in St Annes. It moved to Blackpool in 2016.

It’s new PR2000 tablet press at which was unveiled at the Vitafoods convention in Geneva, can make more than 250,000 tablets per hour.

The firm started out by selling its own brands, The Protein Lab and Choice Supplements, using contract manufactures to make and bottle them.

It then moved on to bottling its own products and those of other businesses.
